Cardano’s performance in July stood out amidst the overall crypto market downturn. The Cardano foundation reported a notable increase in on-chain activity, showcasing the network’s resilience and growing user engagement. Despite the broader market setbacks, Cardano continues to sustain and build momentum.
The data provided by the foundation revealed that Cardano saw a modest yet worthy increase in transactions to 94.6 million, up by 1.62% from the previous month. The uptick in transactions was diverse, with 37% involving smart contracts, 38% simple transactions, and 25% metadata without smart contracts. This diversity highlights the network’s strong capabilities and adaptability.
Several key areas of the Cardano network experienced growth, indicating technological advancement and deepening user involvement. Plutus scripts, essential for running smart contracts, saw a rise of 1.88%, reaching 6,659. This increase reflects growing developer activity and the deployment of complex applications on the platform. Additionally, there was growth in native tokens, up by 1% to 10.2 million, and a significant rise in policies, reaching 150,477.
Wallet Statistics
The total number of Cardano wallets increased by 0.71% to 4.84 million, with delegated wallets slightly up by 0.02% to 1.35 million. This marginal growth in delegated wallets signifies stable interest in staking and governance participation among ADA holders. The broadening participation within the Cardano community is evident from these wallet statistics.
Market Downturn
Despite the growth in on-chain activities, Cardano’s native token ADA has not been immune to the global crypto market downturn. In the past 24 hours alone, ADA has seen a 7.1% decrease in its value, trading at $0.3202 at the time of writing. However, it is interesting to note that ADA’s 24-hour trading volume has surged significantly, indicating continued interest and activity surrounding the token.
Cardano’s performance in July showcases its resilience and ability to thrive in a bearish market environment. The network’s on-chain activities, diverse transaction types, technological advancements, and growing user involvement all contribute to its steady growth. While ADA may have faced a decline in value along with the overall market, the increasing trading volume demonstrates ongoing interest and engagement with the token. Moving forward, Cardano’s continued focus on innovation and community involvement will be key factors in its long-term success.
